Code LF-14 Canal Lock Gates (1)

The old Canal Lock Gates at Canal Foor, near Ulverston. The short 1 mile canal was opened in 1795, and the last ship left in 1946. The railways and the shifting channel in the estuary had finally overcome the waterway.
